The ceremony, often referred to as "Music's Biggest Night," is the culmination of "Grammy Week" events. The 2026 show will feature several key updates to the awards process, including the addition of two new categories: Best Traditional Country Album and Best Album Cover.
The winners are determined by the Recording Academy's Voting Members, a peer group of music creators and professionals. The nominations, announced in November 2025, are led by artists such as Kendrick Lamar (9), Lady Gaga (7), and Bad Bunny (6)

Record Of The Year: Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar With SZA, Chappell Roan, and ROSÉ & Bruno Mars.
Album Of The Year: Bad Bunny, Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Clipse, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, Leon Thomas, and Tyler, The Creator.
Song Of The Year: "Abracadabra" (Lady Gaga), "Anxiety" (Doechii), "APT." (ROSÉ, Bruno Mars), "DtMF" (Bad Bunny), "Golden" (HUNTR/X), "luther" (Kendrick Lamar With SZA), "Manchild" (Sabrina Carpenter), and "WILDFLOWER" (Billie Eilish).
Best New Artist: Olivia Dean, KATSEYE, The Marias, Addison Rae, sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren, and Lola Young.
Additionally, the Recording Academy will be honoring its 2026 Special Merit Award recipients during Grammy Week, including Lifetime Achievement Award honorees Carlos Santana, Chaka Khan, Cher, Fela Kuti, Paul Simon, and Whitney Houston
